The drilling company Iceland Drilling (Jarðboranir) has handed over its extensive collection of drilling data from geothermal wells drilled in Iceland to the National Energy Authority (Orkustofnun).

National power company Landsvirkjun and Rio Tinto have reached an agreement on the amendment of the companies' electricity agreement and the continuation of the operation of an aluminium smelter in Iceland.

Under an agreement signed this week, Iceland GeoSurvey (ÍSOR) has taken over the operation of the internationally renowned GRÓ Geothermal Training Program.
