Landsvirkjun is Iceland‘s largest power producer. Our role is to consistently endeavour to maximise the yield and value of the natural resources we have been entrusted with, in a sustainable, responsible and efficient manner. Landsvirkjun’s future vision is to be a progressive, international energy company in the field of renewable energy. We want to be amongst the best in the generation and sale of power.

Landsvirkjun, the National Power Company of Iceland, generates electricity via renewable energy sources such as hydropower, geothermal and wind power. The Company is the country’s largest electricity generator and one of the ten largest producers of renewable energy in Europe. At Landsvirkjun we aspire to become a leader in the sustainable use of renewable energy sources, promoting and supporting the development of expertise, innovation and technological development at every juncture.
We operate 14 hydropower stations, three geothermal power stations and two wind turbines in five areas of operation, all over Iceland. We believe in an integrated approach guided by prudence, reliability and the harmony of operations with both environment and society.
ABOUT THE RENEWABLE ENERGY CLUSTER
The Cluster, represents the energy sector in Iceland and has on average more than 50 members that together manage the energy resources of the country. The Iceland Geothermal initiative is part of the Iceland Renewable Energy Cluster.
