President Halla Tómasdóttir's on her first official visit to Copenhagen

IREC participated in Iceland’s trade delegation during President Halla Tómasdóttir's first official visit to Copenhagen this week.

✴️ The trade delegation was organized by Business Iceland and Green by Iceland in collaboration with the State of Green in Denmark and the embassies of both countries. A particularly interesting business forum was held—the Danish-Icelandic Business Forum—where the focus was on energy issues and green solutions.

👉 The Chairman of IREC, Árni Magnússon, was one of the esteemed participants in a panel discussion. He highlighted the advantages of leveraging the collective strength of the Nordic countries in financing green projects locally and called for the simplification of European regulations. These regulations are significantly reducing the continent's competitiveness, which is a major concern.

👉 We are pleased to share that Green by Iceland and State of Green have strengthened their ties, and President Halla Tómasdóttir announced that she has accepted to become a patron of Green by Iceland, similar to how King Frederik IX serves as the patron of State of Green. This is a particularly positive development. We extend our congratulations to our colleagues at Green by Iceland on this important step.

✴️ President Halla Tómasdóttir urged us to continue the conversation and turn it into action.

✴️ The Chairman and the CEO took the President's words seriously, immediately continuing the discussion with the Danish Energy Cluster, exploring how to seize this momentum and work towards identifying tangible projects that can be initiated as soon as possible. The energy clusters are further strengthening their collaboration and creating increased opportunities for their members.
